ORDER A CUSTOM PET PORTRAIT (for human portraits, see this page).I love painting kitties. Above are some examples of my cat paintings. To see these in better detail, click on each image and you will be taken to the page for the painting on DailyPaintworks (where I sometimes sell my artwork). Some of these cat paintings are for sale, some have already been sold. To commission me to do a cat painting, please contact me using the blog's contact form. (I can also paint portraits of dogs upon request. I love the doggies too!)FAQs: "Can you paint from a photo?" Yes, I do this a lot! The photo should be clear, with good lighting and a pose that is flattering and not awkward. We can discuss together which photo would be the best to use. The more photos you can provide, the better! "Can you paint me and my cat?" I love to do portraits of people as well as cats, so, sure! This is something that can be discussed. (Please refer to my other commission page for inquiries about portraits of people. The prices are different.) "What are your prices?" This will vary on size and complexity. I have plenty of smaller paintings that are in the $70-400 range on DailyPaintworks. DailyPaintworks has my less expensive, smaller studies, while other online galleries may have my larger, more ambitious, higher-priced paintings that take longer to complete. Right now I'm what you'd call an "emerging" artist (that means I'm not famous!) and so my prices are low-ish compared to many others. What does it cost for you to paint my cat? Again this will vary, depending on several factors. My commission prices (to do a custom portrait of a particular cat, not just any cat) will have a higher price than my regular paintings. To give an example, if I am selling a small painting of a cat (just any cat) for $60-75, a commissioned portrait of your cat, at the same canvas size, might be $125-150. The higher price is explained by the extra time and care it takes to do a custom portrait, the back-and-forth working with the client to make sure they are happy with the finished painting. Where are you located? I'm in the USA. I will charge only actual shipping charges plus insurance when mailing paintings in the USA. I have sold my paintings to collectors in Canada and overseas to select countries (Europe, Australia, New Zealand) and always try to keep the shipping costs down as much as possible. However, if I am not certain that I can secure shipping insurance to your country, I may regretfully decline to do your custom cat portrait. GENERAL PET PORTRAIT PRICE LIST(Prices can vary depending on the type of request and complexity of the project. All prices are in US Dollars.) 5x5 inches: $115 6x6 inches: $145 6x8 inches: $175 8x8 inches: $230 8x10 inches: $285 10x10 inches: $350 9x12 inches: $350 12x12 inches: $485 (Larger sizes can be painted on request.) All paintings 12x12 inches and under will be painted on a flat, rigid substrate. (A canvas panel, primed wood panel, or canvas board.) These boards are usually 1/8" to 1/4" thick. If you prefer your painting be on a cradled panel, add $5 to the price. I prefer rigid panels because they are more durable. There is a reason why many old museum paintings are surviving quite nicely on wood panels! CONTACT ME to make an inquiry about a custom pet portrait. See my commission page for general information about the process of commissioning any type of custom portrait, photo reference info, copyright ownership, and so forth. PLEASE NOTE: Prices for cat portraits vary from human portraits. |
