In early 2023 I discovered that my blog (started in 2012) had inexplicably "broken" after an automatic update, and was completely unavailable to visitors. I had no prior warning this was going to happen and had no control over it.

I have this love-hate thing with blogs (mostly WordPress) and they've "spontaneously" broken on me before. Resolving the problem was more difficult this time and I decided that it was the last straw.

I made my first website in 1998 (yes, I'm a dinosaur!) but certainly am no expert. I have prided myself for all these years in being able to maintain all my own sites. And I still feel this way! But WordPress is a different animal and I'm not an expert and honestly, I'd rather be painting than struggling with blog software.

So, I decided to let WordPress themselves handle the technical aspects of the blog, since they offer well-maintained and sophisticated web hosting. But, I didn't want to make this site, JDunster.com (my original site that I've maintained for many years) just a blog, so I decided to "migrate" my blog to another domain name I own, JRDunster.com.

Then I decided I'd like to try out a FASO-hosted website (it's a platform especially designed for artists; greats like Lipking use it!). So for that website, I dusted off another domain name I own, JacquelineDunster.com to see how things go. So far, so good; I like the platform so I think I'm going to keep it!

So that brings us to three sites. I hope this experiment works out.
